GALE is a learning community focusing on education about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues. We promote the full inclusion of people who are disadvantaged because of their sexual orientation or sexual identity by identifying, enhancing and sharing educational expertise. The membership of the community is open to anyone actively involved in education about LGBT issues.

From 20 till 22 March 2008, GALE organized a small meeting in Lima to discuss the preparation of the Latin American and Caribbean activities of GALE. Before the meeting, a quick scan of educational interventions and interest in GALE had already started. A strategy meeting is planned in Mexico City, 29-31 July.
