Introduction
RATIONALE
During 2012-2016, UNESCO has cooperated with a number of LGBT NGOs on research concerning sexual diversity in education. Some other UN agencies also have initiated research or other projects on LGBTI/sexual diversity (in) education. It is unclear how UN policies on sexual diversity and education link into each other and how NGOs can most effectively engage with the UN.

GOALS OF THIS RESEARCH
This survey tries to assess the level of involvement of civil society organizations in relation to the strategies of UNESCO and other UN organizations and the needs for further involvement and cooperation. If we refer in questions to ”cooperation with the UN”, we refer to cooperation in the area of education.
The survey results will be used to develop recommendations for future cooperation between civil society and the UN. In addition to this survey for NGOs, we do interviews with UN officials and a few other global stakeholders.

ORGANIZERS
This exploration is carried out by GALE (the Global Alliance for LGBT Education) and RenfoCap Centre on behalf of the No-Bullying-Coalition.

DEADLINE
The DEADLINE to fill in this survey is 1 OCTOBER 2017. We aim to publish the results in November.
