Standard setting = public visibility

The standard setting of you profile is visibility for the whole public. This means your name and the 'summary' of your profile will appear on the public website, which anyone can see. The other parts of your profile are only visible for members of GALE when they log in.

Hide your profile

You can choose to limit the visibility of your profile to:

• members of GALE (when they are logged in)
• members of groups you join
• only moderators

Still to be found by search engines

Be aware that hiding your profile will not protect it from internet search machines or the search engine from this website. If anyone searches specific words which are part of your profile, they can be found.

If safety reasons compel you to keep your personal identity or contact information completely hidden, we advise you to make a profile based on a non-traceable internet address and not to include contact details (except your e-mail).
