Mission statement

The mission statement of the Global Alliance for LGBT Education is:

We promote the full inclusion of people who are disadvantaged because or their sexual orientation, sexual identity and their expression by identifying, enhancing and sharing educational expertise.

Goals

1. The Alliance promotes the full inclusion of people who are disadvantaged because or their sexual orientation or sexual identity.
2. The Alliance combats discrimination of people who are disadvantaged because or their sexual orientation or sexual identity.
3. The Alliance promotes public education policies which have the aforementioned aims.

Methods

• Identifying, enhancing and sharing methods for access to general institutions
• Identifying, enhancing and sharing methods for training
• Identifying, enhancing and sharing methods for mainstreaming LGBT-specific aspects into organizations and institutions in general
• Sharing experiences
• Guiding and supporting members and partners to become more effective

The Alliance defines itself as a virtual learning community. The membership is open to everyone who is actively involved in education about LGBT issues. The conditions of membership are outlined in Alliance Guidelines.

The legal body of the Global Alliance for LGBT Education is a foundation, registered in The Hague, The Netherlands.
