Board meeting Geneva 2006

The meeting in Geneva focussed on discussing the needs assessment, the first outline for the network and the mission and goals. At the end of the meeting, a press release was send out with the announcement of the launch.

Creating a preliminary board

Empowerment Lifestyle Services invited a range of educational experts to take a seat in the preliminary board of the network. The preliminary board started with 9 members from Australia, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Namibia, The Netherlands, Sri Lanka and the USA.

Start of the work

The preliminary board decided to work systematically on training the media, police forces, health professionals and school teachers. The preliminary board decided the network will take the form of an association, which, because of its global level, will mainly be a virtual community. Next to that, a series of local pilot projects will start.
The first step of the association will be to develop a website which will host the virtual community of members.
